Picking pumpkins and flying the flag for British farming

From pumpkin picking to proudly displaying the Red Tractor logo, Cobbs Farm in Essex is helping to connect visitors with British farming and the people behind their food.

Owned by the Bunting family, Cobbs Farm near Maldon has a farming heritage stretching back to the 1940’s. Today, alongside growing crops and raising pigs, Becky and John Bunting run the farm’s popular pumpkin patch, growing every pumpkin visitors will find there.

The family has been producing vegetables in the Maldon area for generations, supplying quality produce to customers across the country. As proud Red Tractor assured farmers they are committed to producing high-quality products while maintaining responsible farming practices.

Every autumn, the farm welcomes families in their numbers for its annual pumpkin-picking event, offering a wide variety of homegrown pumpkins and edible squashes, alongside the family’s famous pumpkin soup recipe!

Despite some challening autumn weather, the event has been a great success.

“We’ve had some super days for our pumpkin-picking event, apart from the storms which were a challenge!” says Becky. “Lots of genuine support for us farmers is coming across from our visitors.”

Proudly supporting Red Tractor

Cobbs Farm has also been flying the flag for British farming by displaying one of Red Tractor’s NEW roadside banners, helping to raise awareness of the logo among the many visitors attending the event.

For the Bunting family, welcoming people onto the farm is an opportunity to showcase the care, hard work and commitment that goes into producing British food.
