Access to market
All major UK retailers use Red Tractor standards as part of their buying specifications, while many leading foodservice operators, restaurant chains and wholesalers also specify Red Tractor assured products. This is often demonstrated through the use of the Red Tractor logo on product packaging, websites and marketing materials.
However, even where the logo is not displayed, customer specifications or codes of practice that reference Red Tractor have helped guarantee a supply of assured British produce, while providing licensees with a recognised means of demonstrating due diligence to their customers which enables them to supply into markets.
Reassurance for all
A Red Tractor claim reassures businesses, customers and consumers that a product is British, traceable and responsibly produced. Any food business making such a claim must hold a Red Tractor licence. Our claim definition covers more than use of the Red Tractor logo. It also includes references to Red Tractor in customer specifications, on an end customer’s website or in other product information. Licensees should therefore declare all products that meet the Red Tractor claim definition as part of their licence application, whether or not the logo is displayed.

Red Tractor’s reach matters. Through its scheme and its partner schemes, around 75% of UK agriculture is assured, providing licensees with significant sourcing capability and helping businesses secure assured supply at scale.
