Whole supply chain assurance & traceability

Red Tractor is a whole supply chain assurance scheme operating farm assurance schemes across six primary sectors (excluding eggs and fish), post farm-gate schemes and a licensing scheme, with eligibility criteria that applies at every key supply chain stage from farm to finished products.
Whole supply chain assurance means a continuous chain with no break in the links, which is why, post farm assurance, we license most businesses wanting to make a Red Tractor product claim.
Licensing triggers our Traceability Challenge Programme for licensees, which gives us oversight at each key stage of the supply chain.
This enables us to verify that products carrying a Red Tractor claim have been produced to rigorous standards and are traceable back to the assured farm or farms of origin.

Traceability Challenge Programme
Our wholly owned and operated Traceability Challenge Programme for licensees is comprehensive and industry-leading. It verifies that the product carrying the Red Tractor claim has:
- Originated from a British assured farm
- Been farmed, transported, processed and pack entirely in the UK
- Undergone rigorous check at each key step of the certified food supply chain
