Key – Those standards which have greater significance (all other standards are normal)
Recommendation – Those which do not affect certification
New – A completely new standard which the member must now adhere to
Revised – A standard that has changed and requires the member to take some different or additional action to before
Upgraded – The standard has been upgraded to a Key standard or from a Recommendation to a full standard
Appendix – Referenced in ‘How you will be measured’. Indicates that additional information is provided in the Appendices, which are available at the end of each section.

Producers must visibly inspect boxes, containers, trailers and bulkers before loading.
How you will be measured
- Where transport is to be in bulk or in containers, crates or boxes from outside the Safe Haven Assured production unit a record of inspection for each load must be retained.
- Any boxes, containers and bulkers not meeting the required standard of cleanliness must not be loaded.

Bulk transport is not recommended, but where it is used, the Safe Haven Assured member must obtain cleaning / disinfection records prior to loading

Records include:
- Date
- Haulage Contractor
- Details of load to be transported
- Cleaning/disinfection records

The Red Tractor Assurance Safe Haven Scheme Standards are part of the Red Tractor Food Assurance Scheme. The Standards include best practice and scientific evidence on the most effective way to exclude Ring Rot, Dickeya, Brown Rot and Epitrix.
The Standards must be read in conjunction with the Member Rules which all members are bound by.
