Chief Executive Officer
Red Tractor is the UK’s leading food chain assurance scheme, trusted by consumers, retailers, and government to guarantee food safety, traceability, and responsible farming. As we enter a period of renewal and opportunity, we are seeking an outstanding Chief Executive to lead our organisation through its next chapter.
The role
- Lead the delivery of the UK’s largest food assurance scheme, implementing strategy and business plans.
- Ensure the financial health and continued growth of the organisation.
- Act as a role model for Red Tractor’s values and foster a positive workplace culture.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the supply chain, government, and media.
- Act as Company Secretary, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and oversee corporate governance.
What we’re looking for
- Proven track record of achievement through managing high-performance teams.
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate effectively at pace and in uncertain environments.
- Financial acumen and commercial thinking, with experience in business development and managing significant budgets.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to make decisions based on consensus.
- An appreciation of the food supply chain, government and regulatory environments is desirable.
- Substantial experience at Senior or Board level, ideally within a member, service, or not-for-profit organisation.

Senior Public Affairs Manager
We’re looking for an experienced Public Affairs Manager to act as the central contact for government, regulators, and policy organisations, as well as coordinate strategies to strengthen relationships and inform Red Tractor’s standards. If you’re passionate about influencing policy through insight and collaboration, not lobbying, and want to make a real impact on British food and farming, we’d love to hear from you.
The role
- Lead strategic engagement with political decision makers.
- Build relationships with MPs, regulators, and advocacy groups.
- Monitor policy developments and provide actionable insights.
- Develop impactful communications and educational materials.
- Work with colleagues and partner organisations to create win-win solutions for government and farmers.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in public affairs, policy, or government relations.
- Excellent networking and communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex policy into clear, actionable strategies.
- Collaborative approach and alignment with Red Tractor’s values.
